Do you not have access to a scanner? @xanthefin has an Android app called 850 OBDII that you can get on Google Play for about $4. Just need to buy an ELM32 bluetooth adapter. It can show you the status of different components.

About time I get the adapter I guess...
Will look into the app too. Thanks for the suggestions.
Also for the documents! Thanks a lot.
Is it fair to assume that Motronik4.4 and Fenix 5.2 ECM pinout matches at least to a large extent?

Have a great weekend y'all!

Large yes.. but you then missing example second Lambda sensor and MAF on 10V engines if try install M4.4.

I want share couple things as i have personally Fenix and 10V too.
-No, there is no ECM hack existing to tell it not to look IMMO (Fenix 5.2.. all is for Fenix 5.1 or other models and yes i tried them they are no go). Only IMMO Emulator as even if they dont have like "serial" or "VIN" to check ECM is correct to car but check that type is correct still though via encrypted message exchange.
-Handshake or without handshake ECM dies in that 2 seconds as didn't get _all okay handshake_ from IMMO. Its in its program.
-Try Reflow the relay contacts inside IMMO3 module as you have com issues as IMMO is between there.

With scanner or by the app check Live Data of IMMO and as you have 70 series check VGLA too about IMMO so it is not doing funny business for you (items like Immobilizer Signal).
And mostly read fault codes of IMMO as usually (but not in all cases) it sets code (in RAM memory so it disappears after battery been off) when no start if its about it.

Morning XantheFIN,
Thank you for the in depth answer!
Just bought the 850OBD app and I'm about to obtain the OBD dongle. Any dongle recommendations that I could buy through Matthews Amazon gate here?

Ok, will reflow the IMMO as suggested
VGLA: this is the remote receiver on top of the Instrument Panel? Did not look at it before but can see it installed from underneath the dash.

I am very excited to see some info via app as currently nothing has successfully accessed ECM. Only Delphi was able to see vehicle devices AROUND ECM. I understand the diagnosis schematic as OBD Pin 3 is dead as long as IMMO Relais2 does not connect pin2 to pin1, correct?

Learning a lot in the last few days. Thanks for the support everyone!

OBDCheck BLE+ (Veepeak) is one if looking from Amazon. BAFX is some told working too (being device which follows being V1.4b ELM327 device fully i mean being good devices).

Those two relays inside IMMO module i wait can lose their contacts due age as every each time you turn ignition they toggle on off so they can wear down so in theory if they break it can cause situations like this but i havent seen people doing this fix but i want just say this is possibility if IMMO didnt got successful message from ECM.

That what is top of dashboard is just antenna aka receiver for VGLA module which itself is in deeper.. abscate has in his Volvo threads some good pictures about location of it if required.

No The Fenix 5.2 i want say as i say in website and description that App cannot contact Fenix 5.2 ECM itself as its using older protocol unlike M4.4 and others ( list on website ). Plus ELM device wont reach Pin #3 in OBD Port.

Though this problem i belief can be solved by just looking IMMO and VGLA modules and their data what all they say.

I have though info of the Fenix 5.2 protocol and could in theory make some sort arduino or K line communication to check Fenix 5.2 live data but i dont know will or when try check about it.

Took the VGLA out and reflowed Relais and pins. Will trial tomorrow.
While removing the module I have noticed a cable dangling unconnected. So far I can't see where it belongs. Might be connected to the issue therefore: Anybody able to identify this cable here? It originates from a larger loom branch further up.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks, that's it!
Just confirmed its pinout in another thread using search "accessory connector" .
My V70 has an Antenna on the roof, likely a disconnected CB aerial. Pre owner probably hooked up a tuner to that connector in the past.

In other news:
-OBD dongle is ordered, ETA tomorrow
-VGLA reflowed (no change)

Curious what diagnosing VGLA and Immo will tell.
Lastly: forgot to mention before that the LED on top of Dashboard is never flashing. Might be related.

Cheers.

If you roll down a window, lock the car, then pull up on the unlocking pin at the open window does the alarm go off?
