I have been looking for leaks under the car during operation and afte cools down and can find any. I will pay special attention to the pump which I check periodically. Is there an optimum spot to look for water pump weep other than on the ground near the pump area? Thanks!

Dry carpet doesn't rule out the heater core. Take off the kick panel and look for coolant in the heater box. Yes, even though you replaced the heater core two years ago.

Kick panel being the black plastic covers on both sides under the carpet tunnel?
I have left them off since I installed the core and just put the carpet up so I could
easily check for leaks. I also cut two small access strips into the sides of the mat/sound dampening material. Spongey material is dry as a bone.
I used my boroscope to look in the drain pipe where it empties onto the ground - also dry.
And coolant levels are the same since filling two days ago in the expansion tank. And no detectable scent of coolant today.
I did notice that the tank shows some signs of condensation at the top that I haven't noticed before. But that could be down to the fact that
the tank is new and white and not yellowed and the condensation at the top is normal but I didn't notice before.

Could it be an o-ring that is just starting to go?
I.e. dried up a bit when not in use and then expands when heated and wet?
