When I was invoicing in lease returns 30 years ago in Beverly Hills (CA), I also checked the interiors for any personal items left, you cannot believe what some people left in their cars.
Usually I contacted the people if anything seemed important and
not to go the the entire list but the best was TWO (2), not one, but TWO one ounce bottles of Merck pharmacutical cocaine under the seat of a Rolls Royce!!
Ah the good old days
( no I didn't report it)
That stuff was worth on the street about $500 per bottle! (in 1976 dollars)
I wouldn't want to even think what it would be worth today, I don't even think it's still produced.
Actually I did run it by (very quickly) my boss. He said "you found it, it's yours but get it out of here right NOW"!
