I purchased my 96 850 with the odometer broken, it read 98K on the odometer. I went to a local volvo specialist shop, and they were able to pull the mileage from the computer with the scanner they had.

Car acutally had 129K on it.

I own a 1995 850 Turbo wagon. Sorry to be technical, but when RENNS mentions "turn ignition on", should I assume that means position II on the key contact, and not actually turning the engine on? Or is it the latter? Thanks a lot! I'll be selling my Beautiful Awesome Tank in about 6 weeks or so, so for the same reason I'd like to be forthcoming to the future buyer about the true mileage.

Position II, not engine on...hope this helps. You should not be reading any codes or odometer mileage with engine running.
