Windshield Wipers Not Making Contact

At the risk of reviving a somewhat dormant thread, I just wanted to add that I had the same problem of a driver's side wiper arm not making contact with the windshield at the top of the wipe. To fix, I turned on the ignititon and actuated the wipers and then turned off the ignition with the wipers at the top of the wipe. Then I removed the driver's side arm with a 13mm socket and put the arm face down on a pile of cardboard and gently stepped on the back of the arm, bending it about 1cm. Then I put the arm back on the spline, tightened it up, and now it is making contact again! :)
