Here you go. Mind you disconnect the battery first or use a shorter extension than I did when I made the video.
When you say contact you mean connector right?

Hey guys, I have a 2000 volvo v70 turbo model and cannot get to the ETM. I need to clean it out and hopefully that fixes my rought idle issue. I've seen this video
, but the piping going from the intercooler out, prevents me from removing the radiator fan. It looks like I really will have to remove intake manifold? any help would be appreciated, pics, videos? thanks everyone.

My issues started about a year ago while traveling up the Taconic State parkway on my way to the Adirondack mountains. My 2006 Volvo S60 went into LIMP Mode whilst in cruise control doing about 70mph. I let her cool down at a gas station and then proceeded to drive another 400 miles through the mountains with no issues, then back home through NYC.
My CEL has been on ever since. After dealing with some other car issues (EVAP issues on the 2000 Jeep Cherokee) I finally got around to doing what everyone says to do when you get a P2111 code. I cleaned the ETM.
That's right, took me about 3 hours to remove it, clean it, and put it back. I used a 7mm and a 5/16 socket and some screw drivers, oh and a t25 or so bit.......my car is worse than before. I cleaned that ETM spotless with a toothbrush. Cleared the code, started her up and blah blah blah. Next stop, the dealer.

I have a 2000 Volvo V70 XC turbo with ETM issues. Cleaning at the mechanic didn't work so I'm going to the local Pull-n-pay to see if I can find the part. If I can, what tools will I need to remove the etm.

just a three year update for anyone who cares. I ended up replacing one of the exhaust valve solenoids and that fixed the 'limp home' issue that I was having. Also, for cheezo1001 up above....it was difficult but I did manage to get my ETM out from under the intercooler piping. just had to feel around blindly under there. still can't believe I did it.
