I am so impressed with all of the responses! You folks are great. It moved into a function mode today and as suspected I was able to read the codes. In mode #1 I got a 1-1-1 read which implies that the transmission is functioning OK. In mode #2 I checked out all of the codes and everything is functioning as it should, including the throttle and kickdown mode. I could not check mode 3 and 4 largely because of my imcompetance, and will learn tonight how to check these. Although I entered 3 with three one second pushes on the button I had problems entering the codes as was the case with Mode 4. But I will let you know. The transmission shifted as it should with no hesitation and it was smooth. It shifted into normal mode when I put it in low and just drove. After about 10 minutes it actually shifted into low as it should have of course without the delay. I too think it is a ground issue. It may still be a problem with the solenoids and of course I would love to buy them from you as this seems to be the main problem. I think though it is a ground issue considering that the test mode identified a 1-1-1 code. However the check engine light came on. When I tested it in Mode #1, socket number 2 it gave me a reading of 223 and 245 relating to the IAC valve. Will check out what that means. Thanks again to all of you for you help> This is a problem that we will all solve!
