Sorry, I thought you were talking about the PCV- that rectangular box certainly does sound like the oil cooler- not sure if coolant also goes through it or not since I don't have a '99.

Scooby hit the nail on the head with that reply. I love the car, but it seems that everytime I get something fixed something else comes up. If the oil cooler has been soaked by any other previous leak that has been repaired it is residual from that time. These seem to soak up oil and it seeps out for eternity. There are two o-rings that attach it to the pan and I haven't seen any failures.
