dumb question - radiator splash guard bolts

Post by j-dawg »

Does anyone know the thread of the bolts that hold in the splash guard tray beneath the radiator, behind the front bumper? I lost the bolts a few weeks back and I'm gonna move soon, so I'd like to reinstall the tray.

EDIT: if I'm not mistaken, this takes a 10mm socket. It should be an M6 bolt then:

If nobody else knows 4sho, I'll pick a couple of these up and tell ya how it works out.

M-6 sounds right. I lost one and just grabbed another out of and assortment of European/Asian bolts that Advance sells in a plastic divided box. Those a pretty much all M-6 and M-8 in various lengths and it wasn't one of the large diameter ones. The heads on the assortment rarely match the OEM though.

The air bolt guide; P/N 985743, 968478, F413, M6 x 1.0 x 12mm

In case you need the expanding nut to the air guide and frame: P/N 987282, 6mm x 1.0mm thread outer.

It's finally dryish outside, so I installed that splash guard. M6 bolts worked fine. I'd recommend getting bolts with a length shorter than the 12mm I used, if you can - my ratchet was interfering with the washer fluid reservoir.

On my car, that hole is threaded directly into the body at the seam, unless I totally missed something.
