I have a '98 Volvo S70 and your directions were perfect. At first, I was trying to remove the tamper screws and none of the stores (Autozone, etc.) have the tamper bit. But then, I followed your directions (remove the two - 25 torx screws from the air filter housing and remove the clamp and air hose (3") going to the back. VOILA!!! I have the mass air sensor in hand.

When you buy a new MAF it includes the housing, so just pull the whole housing off. IT takes some force for sure. Work it back and forth.
