Soak injectors in Seafoam: good idea or disaster? Topic is solved

I still have a problem with something named Seafoam. Sea foam is not something you want in your engine. I don't think I'd come up with a steak seasoning and call it Bitter Dog Poop. Could be great stuff but you just don't want to tell your complimenting guests that the great steak flavor is the bitter dog poop you marinated the steaks in.

Seafoam works just fine as an injector and throttle body cleaner. Also used it in the oil just prior to a change to help release more gunk from the engine.
It is just a cleaning agent and best used on a regular basis. I use it on every car I buy as many folks use regular gas even on Volvos and some of the cheaper brands use limited cleaning agents.
But I also remove the fuel injectors and replace the filters in them and the 'O' rings and pintles as required when doing a PCV overhaul.
I don't believe in using these type of products too frequently on older engines as it can remove carbon that helps improve compression on older worn engines. It is not a miracle product, just a cleaner.
