2000 v70 xc se headgasket set

Rear cam holder: piece of grooved floorboard with appropriately drilled holes and steel plates glued in to hold the cams.

Front cam holder: leave cam sprocket bolts in place (sprockets removed) and wire the cams to the nearest cam cover torx bolts.

Crank hold tool: a 3/8 drive 3" inch socket extension.

Valve cover compressors: use kwip grip clamps (6 of them) or use a battery driven power drill with a socket adapter for the 10mm bolts and use the lowest torque setting on a high speed, start at the centre bolts and work your way outwards toward the edges. Make sure all threads are clean and lubricated. You will need to get the cover down quickly before the sealant cures so make sure it is charged. Slowly increase torque setting and go over the 42 bolts from centre to edges until the cover is down. Don't torque the cover more than 7 Nm.

I've used this method on three white block engines including the six cylinder 24 valve and have had no problems or leaks.

I bought the heavy duty cam tool (all black with red case ) from eBay
$240. Ish and I own tourqe wrenches , angle gauge, etc

I think I'm shaped to roll,the head will be off today

ok so now Im stuck... I cant get the vvt off the exhuast cam ! It spins freely then when I goto slide it off it sticks and wont spin. or come out any further

I never updated this i got the gear off by gently tapping it with a rubber mallet on both ends.
