Thread resurrection!

Any current parts/methods that can be used fo reset he service reminder light on a '98 v70? I don't see any draper 69007 reset tool available nor any obdii to USB or serial connections on ebay. Even if I did find something, is volvo vadis software (or whatever soffware) till available to use for this procedure?

VOL-FCR and a Vag-Com cable will do the trick. Ebay has dozens of sellers for the cable and some of them throw in the software. I don't know if the software is "cracked" or not on the ebay sets. The pier to pier sites all have a cracked version of VOL-FCR or you can buy it direct.

I gotta laugh at this. The thing turns itself off after what, 2 mins or so. Me, I tear off the top of the box the oil filter came in, write the date and mileage when the oil/filter was last done and the mileage for the next change fold it in half and stick it behind that plastic thing on the driver side window. The service light reminds me to glance at the reminder once in a while.

But hmmm, I assumed my service light will eventually stay on full time until reset. Only had the volvo, first volvo, a month;). But if it continues to illum for two min at startup and go out like it currently does, I'm chasing my tail for no good reason. Thx previous commenter. Lets close this dead horse:).

Yep, it will continue in its present state, turning off after a couple of minutes.

I know some people actually like having the service light for their T5, because they use it as an indicator to stay out of boost until the engine warms up. Once the light turns off, you know you are OK have at the throttle.

I have developed a modification for the service light system. The modification will change the function of this indicator to "Please Do Not Boost" while the light is illuminated.
The modification, although inexpensive, does require a certain amount of specialized engineering.
The mod will cost between $175.00 and $237.50 depending upon body Style, wagon for $175, sedan for $237.50.
