Would you please?
BTW, anyone know how hard it is to replace that cracked hose.
Any kind of instructions would be really nice.

Here is the letter I got from them. Your car should qualify to be checked. Also included in the flyer they sent with it. Apparently Volvo offers complimentary software upgrade.

Apparently Volvo offers complimentary software upgrade.
*For 1999 and newer models. Our old cars aren't really "programmable". But they will read your codes for free!

Yeah so will advanced auto. They can clear most of them if not all, but they can not reset the service light. Will Volvo do that for free?

Reset the service light? Probably not. They also charge to still read transmission/climate control/SRS codes. But the 1999-newer models have more puzzling engine codes that it would definitely help to have an actual Volvo scanner for so they can tell you what they mean.

I found a guy who had exactly same problem.
Here is the link https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... =1&t=23851
It happened to me and happened to him. It could happen to you too. HAHA
I'd better start driving a lot bucause my tank is almost full right now.
I love this site. Thank you all for the tips and pointers.

You well need to drop the tank, only the rear two bolts get removed not the third near the axle. The remove the hose from the roll over valve and use a bicycle pump to pressurizer the tank. Then get one of those Dawn foam dish washing up liquids and apply the foam to the ends of the hoses and barbs coming out from the tank.

I found a leak last night doing this very thing. It turned out it the leak was from the fuel pump seal. I removed it and added some silicon gasket and some synthetic engine oil.
Life would be enjoyable if it wasn't so painful to live.

take off the tank, replace the seals, and check the heat sheild for any damage or sign of leaking, over time the rubber deteriorates, like it did on mine, and it caused a somewhat "hostile" gas tank
Hope that works, get back to us

I replaced cracked vapor hose and I dont have fuel odor anymore. Then I drove around for a while but CEL is still on.
One thing I've noticed is smoke is coming out of the oil dip stick and looks like there is some engine oil on the intake manifold and on top of the valve cover. I guess the oil seperator box is all stuffed up. Could a bad PCV cause CEL?

One thing solved! Time to find out what it's still mad about.

The PCV does need to be cleaned yes, but will not throw codes unless there's a cracked hose. Stop by an auto parts store and have them read codes for you. The obd ii socket is under your coin tray.
