Doesn't Autozone test batteries? And it died from trying to start it after messing with things. The guy who put the starter in was testing the ignition coils, so he was starting it to test the coils individually...it lasted a long time before it died, I'm 100% positive my battery is good.PBGuy wrote:How old is your battery? I traveled to Europe for2 weeks, when I came back, the battery is too weak, it cranked a bit but not enough to start the Volvo. I called AAA to jump start my car but after I turned it off when they left, the car couldn't start again. If it's an old battery, it may lose the ability to hold charge. It's only $90 at Firestone. So I got another OBD2 scanner which does the same thing as mine...it says I have 0 codes even with my CEL on!
I don't get it...why won't it read right?

Are you saying the OBD scanner is communicating with the computer and then reports back a "no codes - system pass" result?
or
Are you saying it won't communicate with the ecu?

I plug it in and have it at the pos2...it says "communicating" and then after a few seconds switches to saying "reading codes" which then leads to a "no codes found" and then something about it passing

Well - at least its communicating. What light is on in the dashboard. What does it look like?
I know these seem like simple questions but you have an odd case here.
If the triangle is on -what does the window say? and Is it time for your oil change??

No orange triangle...all the only lights I have are an airbag light and a check engine light. I recently got my oil changed about 2 or 3 months ago, and haven't used that many miles on it since then

If it is the one that says CHECK ENGINE you have an emissions issue and may not have a code that can be read by the OBD scanner

If you have intermittent spark you are going to have to check the cam sensor for a triggering signal.
Check for voltage at the coils and then for the trigger signal - let us know what you found
