Is that it? So what's the difference--exhaust wise--between a Turbo and an N/A? The ebay listings are all for Turbo models!

I would assume the downpipe is different. Rest would be the same. Again, I am assuming as I don't have a n/a car to compare with.

Call OBX direct. They normally don't list the N/A exhaust on the website or on eBay but they do have them and if they sell it direct (without the eBay commission) they will knock a few bucks off of the price. The N/A header is quite a bit different than the turbo and it would take more than it is worth to try to modify a turbo exhaust to work.

Check out this link for some great info on the exhaust systems:

I ended up getting an IPD exhaust on my S70 T5 when they were on sale for the holidays. I still need to pass emissions and even though the obx is less expensive, by the time I buy a catalytic converter and have it welded on the IPD was cheaper.

Good Luck

How much cheaper was it, if you don't mind me asking? I need a new exhaust system and I'm not sure if it'll be cheaper to repair my current setup or buy a whole new turbo-back. I'd also like to add a cat.

If you're in IL, all you need is to not throw a code and you'll pass emissions. It's entirely based on OBD, there's no visual or olfactory inspection. An O2 sensor spacer should get you through if you're CELing. I had my car registered in IL and passed emissions twice with no cat.

Oh, and I think mandrel bending is a bunch of hype. At any given size, the difference a mandrel-bent exhaust makes (vs an exhaust made with regular bends) is way less important than the size of the pipe itself.

I've seen no convincing argument that mandrel bends make any noticeable difference, just a bunch of blather from people selling mandrel-bent exhaust systems. Show me data from a flow bench, or at least pressure-drop calculations based on the actual ovaling an exhaust pipe experiences. Until then, it's hyped-up junk and nobody should feel like he's missing out by buying a home-bent exhaust from a quality shop.

J Dawg....Yes, I'm in Illinois. I know there are ways around the emissions test here since everything is done by just plugging into the OBDII system, but I tend to err on the side of caution. Besides, the catalytic converter is very small and when I read the review on my previous post it does state the fit and finish of the IPD was superior to the others.

Ah, yeah. I too would rather have a catalytic converter than not. Not a fan of spewing NOx emissions when they're pretty easily controlled, and the smell sucks too. But if it's not an option for you, it's pretty easily sidestepped, is what I guess I'm saying.
