Re: S70 Dash Noise Fix?

So tomorrow is the big day I start on the dash (hopefully). My Dad is reluctant to help me because he wants to get an entire new dash and he is surprised at how much you actually have to take off to get to the broken mounts. If we were to get a new dashboard (the entire thing) does it come with the mounts? I guess I'm asking if getting a new dash would be useless without repairing the mounts first. I'm not convinced that just getting a new dash will fix my problem. Who is right here me or my Dad? Don't be afraid to say me! I need to know haha! :D

Do I have a story for you... Today I went to a junk yard with my girlfriend's father and mine. We were looking for a dashboard for the car so we can switch it out when we were doing the mount repair. After looking for about a half hour we gave up and started walking back when my dad spotted a V70 in the wrong section. We made our way over to it and I could not believe what it is. It was a V70 R, black, tan 2 toned interior (exactly the same as mine), center dashboard speaker, same radio, R engraved floor mats and running boards, the amp was under the seat (another part I need) and tons of stupid trims pieces I could take if mine broke down the road.

So we asked the owner if we could take the dash and other parts and she said yes. We started removing the dash and I was surprised at how easy and relatively quick we got it out. I'm now very confident about swapping the dash out with mine. Did I mention that the plate for the speedometer, gas gage and whatnot was a metallic blue? (V70R option only I believe). Once I get the dash cleaned up and reinforce all the mounting clips, !which were all there!, we will swap it out. I will post some pics of how everything looks, going to be some kind of S70 R custom haha.

Best part is we got everything I mentioned above, complete dashboard and all, and other unlisted parts for $125...
