Just one more question...it will take a few days to get the parts - can I drive my car with this condition? Will I damage anything beyond the spring seats? Thanks!!

Nope, not for a few miles, but at these miles please.... seriously consider buying new front struts.
The labor is the same as if you only did spring seats
As was said, the ONLY aftermarket spring seat you should buy is the IPD HD, otherwise buy XC90 spring seats
Don't buy by (cheap) price or you will be doing this job again very soon.
If you can spin the nut completely around, they are 100% broken
