Okay. I believe its the injector...

I got the turbo in (2 days of UGH) and the tune. started up, lots of blue smoke. fearing bad things i turned the car off. turns out i just had to let it run for a couple minutes.

anyway, the problem is now consitent to over 10 psi. if i go up to 10, i sound like a harley. its also related to engine speed. but the psi seems to have the most effect. 16 year old injectors+ 17 psi of boost= not enough fuel.

point is, what do you guys think?

Misfire is from not enough fuel or not a strong enough spark.

Have you changed plugs? What are you using? Gap to .026" for that much boost.

okay. i did think of the spark plug... the cheap gapper i used fell apart on the last plug. i'll re gap and see if that helps. the boost is probably blowing it out. it also got slightly worse. it now comes at 3.5k and ~5-7 psi. im guessing from the plug getting burnt or something bad from being blown out. ill check on them tomorrow. thanks for all the help!

You may want to shell out the $$$ for Volvo plugs on that. I've never used them, but I'm not sure how well standard plugs like Bosch coppers hold up to high levels of boost.

Im using Bosch Platinums. I heard that turbos dont like iridium plugs. I hear that those are what the car likes best. And we all know if you just open the door wrong, the CEL comes on until you apologize. I dont like using cheap parts, especially for crucial components like the sparks plugs. I really hope this works, i cannot wait to feel the full beast my car has become. :D

What!?!?!? Get that crap out of there!!! These cars HATE platinum plugs - well known across any Volvo forum.

Bosch Super Copper or Volvo OEM plugs only.

Well okay then. I'll switch them out soon. how much do you think a set of volvo plugs are? I'm assuming they are better then the Super Coppers, so will they hold up to the added boost?

(Off-Topic)
I've also seen commercials for ion plugs, that pretty much shoot lighting (ionized particles, small difference) into the cylinder. They do not have the "rod" to which conventional spark plugs spark to. The temperatures of these ions are also higher and spread out through the air (more even burning?)
Think volvos will like them?

Also, since i have a misfire on cylinder 5, are the cylinders counted from the camshafts or the distributor cap?
