Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

so ... my friends, today, i decided to just completely drop the sub frame, there was 2 bolts which i had loosened already, and SNAP, i took off the transmission. here are a few pix i have attached for ya'll ;)... IT IS MUCH EASIER FOR A DIY'r like me without professional jacks and what not to drop the frame and doing without any assistanse. PLEASE be extra cautious, as the frame is somewhat heavy and do not have your face/vital parts directly under the frame. i tied the tie rod ends and the P/S rack with a wire to the engine, so that it wont fall once the sub frame is lowered. I started to clean the frame with degreaser ( i like everything clean and new, as much as possible :) ) , a few more things that i will replace since its already exposed, The sway bar bushings, subframe bushings and we'll see what else i will need along this expedition.

btw i took off the oil pan as well, i will pressure wash it and replace all seals/gaskets, i noticed there was muddy oil on the bottom, which did not pass thorugh the last oil changes, its just below the drain hole. stay tuned. your inouts are always welcome :)

today, i pressure washed the oil pan inside out, however im not happy with the inside plates, i will use a heavy degreaser and scrub more, then i will attack the subrame. constucting an oil cooler adapter in the mean time, i was also thinking to use -10 AN fitting and tap the oil pan cooler holes and directly fit the AN fittings into the pan..... ANY THOUGHTS?

so... i got my brand new subframe bushings by ScanTech and Meyle HD sway bar links and oil pan gasket set. while im going to be instaling all new seals on the bottom end, i also removed the twins ;) , i will also remove the exhaust manifolds and give it a nice sand blast and a hi temp coating then wrap it with exhaust wrap... now its turbo rebuild time.. need to order the rebuild kit, going to also figure out if the TD04's i got laying around will interchage with the TD03 set up, if not then oh well.. for now lol :)

the trans is out waiting for parts , once i get them from Tripple edge performance, im going to drop of at the transmission, shop, 'BTW IF ANYONE READS MY POSTS, IF YOU KNOW ANY REASONABLE TRANSMISSION REBUILT PLACE IN LOS ANGELES OR EVEN OUTSIDE OF LA, I DON'T MIND DRIVING AS LONG AS HE/SHE IS TRUSTWORTHY AND WILL DO A GOOD JOB, PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP! much appreciated, stay tuned..

Updated photo of the "cleaner" version lol.. a lot of degreaser and some scrubbing with scotch bride

You might try posting in Mechanics and Shops for an LA area transmission rebuilder.
