This guy has been around for a long time, I have seen the site recommended on Volvo web sites for many years. That's your best bet, spare yourself the trouble and uncertainty of all the untested brands available on Amazon etc.

I didn't say anything about it the last time you posted this story, but I will now because it seems a safety issue and is popping up again: I think painting the reflector on a headlight is a really, really bad idea. YMMV, you may be happy with it, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Since I purchased the glass before I found out about the flaking and burnt reflective coating I thought I try the paint first. The Temp is way below the 200 degrees F of the Maximum of the paint. The Thermometer was inserted through a hole in the back of the OE Light Assembly. After comparing the results at night while driving and in another car I am OK with it's illumination performance. The worst that can happen is that it flakes again.

Just a follow-up: lampsandlenses sells factory spec headlights so you are good to go with those. But for anyone thinking about changing to some different type of headlights or bulbs, you can get excellent guidance with a good read through of Daniel Stern's web site. There is more to consider but his thoughtful and objective background information can serve as a good baseline.

If you want better bulbs, I have been pleased with the PIAA.
