I have a faulty Dice unit from on of the Alibaba sellers that has the same symptoms. Bought another one from eBay and it works fine.

I believe your unit is faulty as mine was. I only tried it with a Volvo. I have no idea if the interface light will work on another vehicle

Precopster, does the interface light on your working DiCE light immediately, or is there some sort of sequence/timing of connecting it and manipulating the ignition switch as was mentioned here earlier as a possibility?
I've got a bad feeling about trying to return this unit for replacement. I'm starting to believe I'm just out a couple hundred dollars.

Sorry for the delay.

The interface light works when the Dice unit is selected at the Vehicle Selection Page. As with yours I could see the faulty unit and the USB interface light worked as well.

OK, here is a DiCE Manual that I thought might bring in some light. There are slight differences for the non-BT version, but the basics apply regardless.

Hello guys - it is nice to find this place ;)

I just bought Vida Dice

http://aliexpress.com/item/2012-version ... 51618.html

but unfortunately i have the exactly the same issue as MattHenning

Image

It pass all other tests except the interface test ! The tool did recognize the car (V70 2002) and it VIN number. But when i try to connect the ECU for diagnostics the options are grey and not avaible. The last LED of the tool "Vehicle interface status" stay grey !

I use Windows 7 , the tool is powered by the OBD2 connector (not external power source by adaptor) .

Can you suggest me any solutions for that issue ?
Thank you very much in advance !

What firmware version does your unit have? Also is your Windows 32 or 64 bit?

Faulty unit. I bought one with the same problem in 2011. Also the firmware is clearly out of date at 5.6.1. If you can arrange a refund it would be best.

Purchase instead from Shenzhen Zuess which has supplied myself & other forum members here a number of times with zero problems.

You can download the latest firmware from www.volvotechinfo.com

You need the Dice fw update tool.

It depends what quality unit you have. If with blue board I wont risk if with green teleca board you will not have any issues.
