The blowers on the ECC cars aren't regulated with resistors like your fathers Buick..the signal they get is complicated by all the inputs noted above. I think most of these issues are wonky fans. It's a pretty easy replacement on these cars until the P2.... :-(

Crap can fall into the blower cage too, especially if you don't have a cabin filter installed. We had a thread where some idiot lost his Iridium phone into the hole and wondered why his blower kept ringing recently.
