Yep. Waiting for replacement pump to arrive before doing that. I don't think there is a "pump filter" as such Jimmy57 mentioned above there is a pressure hose that goes from one side of the tank to the other. My bet is that is what's messed up. Either it has come free or is blocked. If I understood VIDA better, it might help :)

Also, I saw this description (also by jimmy 57) of how it works in another thread:
jimmy57 wrote: 22 Sep 2013, 19:07 The left side gets emptied into the right side. The ejector pump continually suctions the LH side and delivers to RH side. When the fuel level gets much below 1/2 tank there is no more spillover across the hump and the left side will get emptied and read 0 liters.

Just make sure you disconnect battery before pulling seats or you get SRS light.
Other than that, did mine and it was simple enough. (04 V70)

It will cut out but immediately restart. Eventually, it shows 1/8 full but won't start. No codes are generated. If I add some fuel, everything works as it should. This car has no fuel pressure regulator. Any ideas on what the specific problem is?
my 2002 S60t runs out of gas at about the 1/4 tank hashmark. recently is seemed to have raised to just before it! Got stuck a few weeks ago, but the computer says 105 miles left. 90 was my warning number till then. subsequent fill ups consume 13-16 gallons.
I DO HOWEVER rarely fill the tank. Usually putting in about $20 worth, since I only drive to work about 3 miles rt. Just replaced fuel filter. Thoughts of a fix?

In my case, replacing the fuel pump solved the problem. It is a fairly simple job and there are excellent instructions on this site. I made a removal tool while waiting for the replacement pump to arrive. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.
