That's a 20V write-up and a good one however the last poster is asking about the DIFFERENCES in hardware between 10V and 20V motors.

Tensioner pulley, hydraulic tensioner and water pump are the same. There's a blue plastic spacer that sits on top of the hydraulic tensioner that is unique to the 10V version.

The 20V procedure can be applied to the 10V version without any issues.

Can the belt and spacer be sourced in North American from a dealer?

I've tried plugging 10 valve part numbers into dealer's website search and they show no match so answer is no.

Read this thread thoroughly: parts dealer in UK.

Spacer:

There are 2 belt choices for the 10 valve depending on chassis number. Just search eBay UK for " volvo 850 10 valve timing"

Resurrecting my old thread...

I'm about to change the Timing Belt, Water pump, and all pulleys. I got the correct timing belt and spacer from the dealer using the engine serial number / VIN. I'm wondering if the IPD cam locking tool will work on the cam pulleys of this engine?

Thanks!

Kim

The cam sprockets have a slightly different offset on the 10 valve but I don't see any reason why a cam locking tool won't work on them. BTW many posters say they are a waste of time and money. I've never used one and have done about 10 belt changes.
