Is it actually copper or stainless? Jacob, any idea what the line stuff you are talking about is called or where you can get it?
I am partially thinking cut out the bad section (I can completely see it) and then put in a piece. However I'd rather not frankenstein anything if I don't have to. I just need this darn thing back on the road.
As for the removal...I have wrenches that are made for lines (flare) and figured those would work as they have for replacing brake hoses in other cars that I have had....

I forget what they called it but it is behind the counter at the advance autos in my parts. I did the front passenger side on the 850 when my attempt at removing the font brake hose resulted in destroying the hard line. It uses a two step flare process called a bubble flare.... A royal pain to do using the rental tool. That special line did not come with the bubble flare so I ended up having to cut the ends off and create my own flare. Not the easiest thing to teach yourself in the driveway.i ended up wasting several pieces of the line before I got it right.
I am not an expert mechanic, but I will attempt any repair. Worst case scenario is I screw it up worse than it was.

Just came in from trying to remove it. It separated no problem at the caliper but it is fused solid at the connection above the rear axel. This was the same issue I ran into when replacing the front hoses. I hate to say it but I think you are going to be splicing lines. Hopefully you have enough good line at the caliper end and you can just cut out the bad piece of line and use compression fittings to splice and avoid the whole flaring thing. I know a lot of people will warn against using compression fittings to splice a brake line but I have done it on several occasions with no problems. Of-coarse there is always the danger of it failing but remember it failed you without the splice, right? You might also want to check MD laws about it too as it might not pass safety inspections there.

Thanks for trying man, I appreciate it! Safety inspection is only when you buy the car not after unlike VA we get out of that one. Only emissions every 2 years until it hits 20yrs old. I MAY splice it but I'll see if I can get the line off and then take it by a shop to see what they can do for me, if I can't get it off...I may go the compression route.
Yeah I mean it failed once and I made it home safe...scared but safe
