2004 xc70 clunking after car gets warm

I have exactly the same problem with a 99 V70. I too only hear the clunking at low speeds after the car has been driven for 30 to 45 minutes. I can also barely make out the noise at higher speeds but only when all other noises are minimized. The noise is almost like a ratchet and I can also hear it if I push down on the drivers side front end. Once the car is cooler the clunking is gone and I can only hear a wheeze.

I have the exact same problem with my 2006 S60. The clunk only appears when the car has been driven for a little bit and warmed up. The clunk seems to be audible when I drive slow over roads that are even (e.g. parking lot or residential areas). It is not affected by speed bumps.
I tried to find out if it was right sided or left sided, but when I push down on the front (after the car has been driven) I hear no distinct right or left sided noise. It seems to be centered.
I have had all the engine mounts replaced, new end links, left spring seat and new bushings for the wishbones.

I didn't read all replies, but clunks/knocks over slight speed bumps after a few minutes drive in hot weather is caused by worn sway bar bushings at the subframe brackets. This happens also after climbing a hill. In cold weather it may be perfectly quiet. I believe Volvo upgraded the sway bar with better bushings somewhere in 2007 but replacing the bar is not fun

An update on my problem: it turned out to be a bad end link on the passenger side. Perhaps the grease in the joint got bad after driving or lost it’s lubricating abilities or something god knows what.
