2008 S60 2.5t fuel rail removal question

Which type of connector do you have? Unless you remove the connector from the fuel rail, you may not see it. It goes into the fuel rail first, the connector goes in after it, and then that is held in place by the same metal piece that hold the injectors in place. Without an o-ring, you would have no seal and I suspect that you would have a major gas leak.

my fuel line has this new clip and I have removed the screw and the clip, and pulled really hard, but the fuel rail won't come out. Do I need the special tool to remove the fuel line from the fuel rail, or can I pry it off with a flathead screwdirver?

From what I remember, once the screw and clip are out, you have to depress or pull another tab on the remaining black piece. Try looking very close maybe with a small mirror.
