I'll drop in another and test continuity on the wiring while I'm in there.

I looked closer at the wiring to the wheel sensor and noticed a splice like the one I had done to the severed right side last year.
I cut out the splice and re soldered the wires. The condition of the metal inside the casings seemed corroded and powdery.
Took it for a drive and it worked for a bit and then stopped again.

I bought some electric contact cleaner since I had just ran out of it. Removed the junction at the ABS module and sprayed the terminals of the harness liberally. Also blasted the pins at the module.

It is back to life for now so I'll take it to work tomorrow and see how it does.

I wish I could say it was fixed though.

"Working", yes, but intermittent failures requiring turning the car off and restarting.
I did a bit of light reading last night. I forgot for a moment I have the service manual. I have boiled it down to a few possibilities I haven't yet checked.
This has been on the shelf here for a month or so. I forgot, These things are helpful.

440 Pages of light reading.
440 Pages of light reading.
Within 15 minutes of reading, I was amazed how much I had learned. I only have about 430 pages left to read and retain.

I will update with results.

That came in the mail two days ago.
I've been working non-stop the past two weeks and have had no time to do anything.

Sunday, everything should come together.

Have the VAG-COM.

Have Service manual.

Have software.

Spare parts, tools. I've got.

Some time to focus on the task at hand will be nice.
