That is a crying shame. $100 part and 2 hours labor. I actually had a transmission replaced for about the same price.

When I did mine, I spent ~2 hours just to read that long thread, but once you get in it is very easy, it is a matter of:
1. Removing battery, tray etc., using simple tools.
2. Stop and observe the area, take photos, mark the existing setup: assuming it is still factory setup.
3. Then carefully remove the PNP screws (I left it attached).

Then it is a matter of filing the copper pieces nice and flat and swapped their positions (so the worn ones are further inward) to even out the wear and tear.

All is good now.

Don't spend $500 on something you can do for free. Good lighting is critical here.
