2001 T5 S60 headlights always burning out

Do you have pigtail electrical connectors on your headlight wires? My 2005 has them and my 1999 were added as a recall.

Thanks abscate...I will take a look but I don't recall seeing this on the lights. I did a search online and it looks like there was a recall....the extra wire is used to drop the voltage down to closer to 12v using the resistance of the wire. I think (hope) that my voltage protector will serve the same purpose....it is connected in parallel with the battery. I bought it but never fitted it....it's just a box with wires that go across the battery but I think the idea is to smooth out the spikes....I will take a look at it and post more info. The resistance wire sounds like a bit of a botch as presumably you'd lose brightness from the bulbs on dipped beam?
