Hi Evan,

If I understand what you want to do is remove the whole assembly and want to know how to disconnect the cable from the shifter assembly. Do you need the whole assembly or do you just need the lower part that kahl shows in his picture.

If you just want the part he is showing, and have already undone/removed the center console, then the guys have explained how to get just that part, although if you want the gaiter also, you need to remove the shifter knob first. To do this, twist the top of the gaiter around the shifter shaft about 45 degrees, then pull the gaiter down as it should have released the gaiter from the shifter shaft.

To remove the shifter knob, you need to pull hard and straight up. It will suddenly give, so be ready.

If you need the whole assembly, then I can't help just now as I don't have access to Vida currently. Perhaps someone else can jump in please?

Thanks, Neil. I don't need the whole shift lever assembly. I had erroneously assumed it would be simpler to get the shift knob by simply removing the lever. Mo need to put myself through that. Just looking for the shifter knob and surround that Kahl has written about and with the various responses, I believe I now know what I need to do. Thanks to all.
