Went to pull a part tonight and found a groundhog in the engine compartment. Did the right thing and gave him a few carrots and wished him well.

Not sure what he is working on, but I am sure I can rent him out if you need him to pull parts. The one is shinning at me. I think he is after my turbo.
Can you ask the groundhog which way the oil trap boss mounts?

The solution to the turbo vs non- turbo debate is to get one of each, with manual transmissions of course.
He was working on the exhaust side at that time. :D
He does work for food.

On a sad animal note I found two dead squirrels in the yard this week. I suddenly remembered, in my major service on my 1999 I'm doing, I left the coolant in a bucket under the car. I think these poor guys drank the Volvo koolaid and croaked.

I am a bad person.

Thank goodness no pets were around.

Update: I decided to take a chance on my ability to be able to swap out the old engine and put in a new one. Having already put a new head on the 95 850 turbo I felt confident that it was possible. I ordered a engine online from a junk yard that supposedly had low miles. The S70 turned out to only have 79,000 miles on it so I didn't want to put an engine in that had more miles. I found one with 65,000 miles. I had a son that was driving a Corola with 190,000 miles, so I new it would be a good trade. So we had some father-son time during the winter pulling the old engine and putting in the new engine. We replace all the seals before installing the new engine. New timing belt kit and PVC, etc. Long story short, it has been running fine and has turned out to be a dependable car. I love the low miles, I'm glad I saved it from the crusher.
