98 V70 does this TB path have wobble? [ Gates wobble, replaced Conti, no wobble]

I agree, leave it alone, probably OK.
Or you can watch it every 10K or so.

Took these today, inspecting my belt. The mech tensioner doesn't track as straight as the hydraulic but the pulley is wider

Missed your post previously; many thanks for putting those up. Is that a Conti belt?

My car has already seen 2600 miles since the new timing belt and I just inspected the belt again. I took another video but bottom line is no change. I will sit on it for now, until I place another parts order in the next few months, but my plan is to try out another Conti belt and see if there is any difference. Mostly out of curiosity really.

Glad it helped. Yes it is a conti belt passed due replacement. The tensioner I replaced last year due to noise. Not sure if orig owner replaced idler or wp but he said the belt was replaced

Led here from another thread. I believe Erik replaced the Gates with a Cont and it tracked better, resolving this issue
ran the Gates belt for about 5k miles because we put the car in service somewhere else for a several months, then when we got it back here I put in a Continental belt. It tracks straight with the Conti belt. The Conti belt is about 17 bucks (?) for the record.

I've had a Gates on for 4 years and it still tracks nicely. Conti is probably better because OE.
Summer: 1996 855 R
Winter: 1994 855 T5M
Donor: 1995 854 10V
