If you need an abs module and funds are tight, get ahold of me. I have some that have superficial case damage from people trying to open them, otherwise they are functionally perfect. I let them go very cheap just to be rid of them.

Do I pull the dipstick up or just leave it off till this is fixed? I have to drive the car around town for the next couple of days before I can get it fixed.
Thanks!
leaving it loose is a good idea but pay attention to it. I have seen some so clogged up that it starts to spew oil out of the dipstick tube and running out of oil is worse than blowing the seals. We had one member that rigged up a hose tied to the dipstick tube with a 1 gallon jug "recovery tank" to make it home from buying the car halfway across the country. I think he got to the point where he just started to recycle the oil from the recovery tank about half way through his trek.

Just pull it up to relieve the pressure but keep major stuff from going down the dip stick

I would just pull it out a little bit, and don't drive it hard. I'm sure you don't want oil thrown everywhere!

I´d just pull it up and leave it in so you have no pressure but still nothing getting in or out there.

The best way is to buy a tight fitting piece of hose, pull the dipstick out, push the hose on, and route the hose down to the ground so oil vapors don't crud up your engine, just the environment. If you make this a permanent fix Thor will pop all your cam seals, your rear main seal, and pop a P0455 code the day before your inpsection in environmental retribution.

I agree, the long hose is the best solution for a couple of days. The long hose routine can still end up with a lot of lost oil, not just lost oil vapor, but you are only talking a couple of days should be OK.

It's funny how people drive with the system clogged or damaged for years and as soon as they learn about the issue, driving it 3 more days is detrimental.

Everyones fear factor is different. Some won't drive a newly purchased P80 until the change the unknown timing belt components. Others will drive them 50% past service interval.

Eeekks.
