thanks!
I am going to read about the clutch fix and why it is necsesary. I saw it come by, but did not dig into it yet.
And good to get an answer about the evaporator check from passenger footrest. I will definetely tell him.
I do not think the garage guy knows about any of these things. but lets see what he sais tomorrow.
Maybe he is smarter than I think and will tell me about the compressor clutch.
I am also interested to see what he sais about if and how much it leaked.
Airco confirmation question.

6 zip ties is way overkill, you only need 3!
Measure the clutch gap, then measure the zip ties: the thickness of the zip tie must be less than the excess in the gap.
Here is a classic zip tie thread with great pics: Ac shim fix are zip ties the new bread clips

Got it back yesterday evening. Too bad he didnt suprise me with a smart fix. Just the: I found nothing wrong.
And that the airco leaked a very tiny little bit. but it could also be the machine with taking it out.
Well Anyway. I was very done with it all so we expressed our unhappieness and wanted to leave.
He felt very bad. And so did I a bit sice he is basicly a good engine mechanic. Just not on these precise things I found out now.
He promised us a free airco fill when we came back if it was still a problem.
He also looked at why the down vent did not give any air.
he was allready talking about the electronics being broken. I opened it myself, listened and watched the motors turning for the rest of the functions. wich they all did. Took the motor of the downvent and found the typical split rod under 10 minutes.
Glue is now drying. And I made a brass sleeve to put over it later.
Tomorrow I do the tie rip fix to the compressor over a pit at some friends.
