Transmission or drivetrain issue? Big problem, videos inside.

There is a collar that can be replaced. To do so you have to pull the passenger side (RH) axle, disconnect the prop-shaft at the rear of the angle gear, and then there are about 7-8 bolts around the angle gear to remove the angle gear. Be prepared for transmission/angle gear oil leakage as the sleeve between the angle gear and the transmission acts a sealing surface. Depending on who you talk to and the transmission the sleeve may no longer be available, but viva performance list they carry different versions, but check this is the correct version for your vehicle with Volvo.

However, I am not convinced this is the issue you may have. If the RH front axle is not turning the angle gear should not affect this. The angle gear sleeve only acts on the rear wheels. The RH axle passes right through the angle gear to the transmission.

This may be a transmission issue with the drive to the RH axle, the RH axle or the RH wheel bearing or RH brakes, as it appears to be putting all the power to the LH axle and rear.

So if the angle gear only serves as conversion for the rear wheels and a pass through for the front right it could be very likely that the transmission is bad still? I guess that would make sense as the noise does seem to be emanating from the transmission itself and not underneath the car towards the center.

That being said, for whatever reason it looks like the input shaft going into the angle gear is spinning at a different rate than the collar it feeds into. Just when I think I'm getting a grip on what's going on I feel like I'm at the beginning again! I really do appreciate it, can't reiterate it enough.
