Find a white door and bolt it in, repainted after some time if the mismatch bothers you.

You have to accept accidents as part of a cars aging, or fork out the full nut for a paint job. To make a Volvo look new or like it did will cost a lot more than $300

Get yourself a pair of junkyard doors and have them sprayed, problem solved.

That is the way to do it. Take off the inside door panel and start pushing it out. A small shop can fix it, and they can likely match the paint.

As others have said, I would not let them total the car. They tried that with me about 2 months ago and I told them that they could triple their offer and total it. Or give me the estimate amount and leave my title alone.

My car was a '95. They gave me the estimate amount and left me alone. I made it very clear to the insurance company that I would sue them if my title was damaged.

In TN after so many years it doesn't matter if a title is salvaged or not... I suppose the only issue is whether or not an insurance company (as RSPI so adamantly fought for) will insure your vehicle against future damages or not. We crossed this bridge with my son's '94 850...came to the conclusion that it just wasn't worth that much money so we took the $$ and the salvaged title knowing that unless it was truly totaled later on, we could keep fixing it, and we did! The $$ obtained from his first fender bender accident paid for my S70's engine to be rebuilt! LOL

There is a cheaper and arguably more effective solution:

Wow...what a heartache for those of us who take care of our old cars. Unfortunately, idiots abound. I'd fix it and ask the insurance reps lots of questions before accepting their initial offer. They'll always go for THEIR BEST INTERESTS rather than your own. Your job is to represent your own and do it well.

I still think you can get it repaired and color matched for the $1800 unless you live in a high cost area. Even if you have to throw in a couple bucks the car is probably worth it to YOU.

Wow... that is a clean T5. I would replace the doors with white junkyard doors and call it a day. Luckily white is a common color on these cars, and it shouldn't be too hard to find parts. Assuming the b-pillar isn't damaged, that car is not even close to totaled. In the condition mine was in when I bought it, I would have considered it totaled since I had to do a little frame pulling. This is nothing.
With the time and money you have invested in the car, I wouldn't be able to sell it either.
$1,800 is dirt for that car. Unfortunately insurance companies base their estimates on what a base model S70 in below average condition with almost 300k would go for. In that case, they're being generous!
