URO Air Guide not fitting? Topic is solved

Do you still have the original one? .... I went shopping for a replacement and was appalled at what they wanted for something which is essentially recycled milk bottles - so I improvised. Its been going strong now for 6 years.

I don't. The car never came with it! And frankly, I couldn't see the use of it either. But being that now we're taking longer drives, I figured that it would make economical sense to get one. Especially if it can help out on the MPG.

I have to take a picture of it so you can see. The holes in the tabs just don't line up. The tabs would have to be about an inch longer on either side in order for it to work.

I won't pay for another one of these things unless it flies off while my wife is cruzing down the highway! The plastic is so cheap! I would rather bend and Gorilla glue and screw on copper pipe straps onto it to keep it going than buy another URO one. Thanks for the pointers. I'll definitely keep that in mind for when this think inevitably breaks...

The simpson strong ties are a lot better repair than copper pipe straps. I wouldn't recommend copper pipe straps or glue. Cpper is much too soft to last and glue wont hold on plastic - especially in the cold and wet.
