I soldered the thermister wires at the tips and my thermister is now working. Ordered a new one from Mouser anyway. 2001 v70 t5

That is a very high value resistor.

I don’t know if you can use a junkyard CCM but I would certainly try

Thanks
I already took everything appart though but that guide would have been usefull while doing it. Not that hard of a job but I guess Ill clean out the little fan while Im in there. Got my part on amazon, was 10$ for 100 NTC glass thermistors while a 10k value so technically should also work with plenty of spares...lol

My 2005 XC90 2.5T with 120K miles ...
In the process of cleaning the little vent (where the cabin sensor is located as in the video below), I damage the sensor. So far no issues with heat etc.
What do I need to do?
- Leave it alone?
- Is the sensor that crucial?
- Is the sensor available somewhere?

Broken thermistor will cause things like no rear windshield defrost, no heated seats, fluctuating or incorrect cabin heat - at least in auto mode, perhaps some more. The faster way is a walk to the junkyard, and undoing the black plastic piece that is housing the thermistor. I believe you can also get the sensor aftermarket (try to google the specs, perhaps 10kohm but needs other specs as well) however not sure how accurate or sensitive a cheap chinese one would be, so perhaps need to go with a good brand. The small fan behind the CCM will also be quite clogged. I made another video with more details accessing the thermistor

Thanks,
There is an ebay seller selling the Thermistor for Volvo HVAC panel.
Already bought it.
Will install in my 2005 XC90 this weekend and report back.
PS: The radio for XC90 is one BIG piece, so it is a bit different than S60 HVAC panel, but the idea is the same...
