Brake Booster Check Valve Hose Question

Not sure how air gets into the brake lines from the check valve. It is pressure operated from the manifold and works on supplying pressure to the booster diaphragm to help reduce the pedal pressure. when it starts to fail you get the harder pedal like you have no boost support and you have to use both feet on the pedal even from backing up speeds. Mine started doing this initially and then worked fine in regular driving. Swapped it out and it returned to normal.

Found a near carbon copy brake booster check valve at Napa -10.00 and change which is about what these are worth -

Part number on box reads 89000 17009 36-B616
