Resetting SRS Airbag light after DIM repair and question about dealing with dealership

Thank you all for the additional comments. In the end, the car's original DIM was repaired by Tanin Electronix and I was able to return the used one to the junkyard for a refund.

I guess it is possible the SRS is not related to the DIM issue, but the light never came on before the dash went dark. The mechanic at the independent Volvo shop said often an early symptom of the faulty DIM is that the SRS light will come and then eventually the dash goes dead. I do not know what codes came up but he said that it was not an issue with the airbags. I admit it makes me uncomfortable that the light is on so I will look into finding a way to get the exact codes read.
