So, basically I need to replacement?.?.
. That stinks. I was hoping for a more convenient test. I found one for around $35 + shipping. I’m sure it’s the stock condenser. There was a product review that said it wouldn’t fit an aftermarket unit. Part numbers were different than the ones you listed. It’s a Santech brand.

I managed to bust one when I was changing an alternator, exactly like yours is broken.
I needed some other stuff anyway and I think the pick-n-pull charged me $1.00 for a replacement. I grabbed a couple of them off of a couple of cars. Nothing is easier to remove and it is there on most of the wrecks.

Condenser? Not sure why you are saying condenser. Santech BTW is made in Taiwan and is aftermarket.pb49415 wrote: ↑23 Jun 2018, 04:00 So, basically I need to replacement?.?.. That stinks. I doubt it is worth spending for a new pressure switch. If you don't have easy junkyard access I can pull one from the parts car out back and send it to you for $5 plus shipping. 5x markup on the junkyard yes, but still cheap.

Thanks for the offer, but I already ordered it. $32 and change is cheaper than a visit to the doctor or dentist. Next time I’ll hit you up. We don’t have any pick and pulls that have any Volvo models similar to mine.

That's what I figured. They are pretty uncommon in the nearby junkyards here too.

Erik, I had a turn of events after I posted. The buddy that gave me the car called yesterday evening and was asking me if I’d figured the problem out. When had spoken with him previously about it, he had forgotten that he had a donor car same year/make. He’s gonna pull the sensor Sunday or Monday and send it to me. I’ll just send the one I ordered back for refund. I’ll repost after I install it and get a result.

So I installed the replacement high pressure sensor and the compressor still won’t start. So, I looked into the relay. I took the cover off and manually tripped it. Compressor fired right up. I charged the system to correct psi. Nice and chilly air coming out the vents. I put the relay back in normal mode and the compressor stopped. I checked 12v current to the relay posts and it all appears normal. I’m gonna ask my buddy to pull the relay off his donor car and send it to me. I’d like to try to pass 12v through the relay on the bench to see if it cycles closed /open. I know which posts are closed and open on the relay itself. I wish I knew which terminals under the relay have constant current and which ones don’t. Any suggestions on either the bench test or terminal currents? I’m really hoping the relay is failed and it’s not something else like the computer.
Thanks in advance,
Paul

Not much help but one of the mantras around here is "it's not the ECU, it's never the ECU" so you have that going for you.
About the wiring other people will more know on the topic than I, including where to look at the diagrams, I defer to them.
