Concerns about an '08 S60 2.5T

Went on with the deal and got myself the car. Got a few hundred off the price, so should cover any hidden "problem" fix and service hopefully.
Buying from a dealer really can be migrane enducing, they don't tell you the real story. Luckily they were more than welcome to do the vehicle inspection before selling it to me, and it passed (with a minor problem with a light, not sure about that but we'll see).

mrbrian200, that should be 6-7 l/100km at 100km/h on a straight highway. I'll check that and report right back with results after test driving. Got a long drive soon so hopefully everything will be fine before-hand and can take the car for a real drive

I don't like mystery cars with issues. Unless it's really cheap and you have the knowledge to diagnose and tinker, is it worth it?

My thinking word for word. If you don't have a clear idea of what could cause that fuel consumption, walk away at fast pace. These cars have a history behind, they don't come off the showroom. At 200000km these are already not easy to deal with, but here you have a clear issue on top if it. And I can tell by experience that it can be 10 things or more that will cause poor fuel consumption.

- Learn how to fix cars.
- You already have VIDA, so it is great.
- 2007 was the last year Volvo offered 2.5T in the USA, interestingly, it was available in Estonia even for 2008 model.
- At 120K miles (200,000km), you need to do the timing belt. Buy the Volvo kit, approx. $120, including TB+ both pulleys.
- The make a list of things to do and slowly go through them.

The 2.5T engine should go to 200K miles w/o issues.

After driving with it for 300km, I can tell for sure that the fuel is being consumed within very reasonable limits: at 100km/h on a straight road with no wind I get 7 l/100km. I cleared the errors before hand so when I get back home, I’ll connect the DiCE and check for any errors that might have appeared.

So far really was worth the price, more like a steal
