Hi there,

Yes that is the plan. I didnt have any yet so i had to wait.

But another good point is that you'd have to lean very far against the hood to get caught on one of those bolts because the bumper sticks out so far when you walk by you are at least 8 inches from the bolts even if your leg rubs up against the bumper.
I'll try to get a side view picture next time i go out there.

Thanks.
I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.

Hi again,

Good ol' Amazon came through again. Ordered 30 of the acorn nuts for 6 bucks. Should be here soon. I'll take another pic too just for fun and for my records.

Thanks.

Check those front hood springs. If they get soft, your grill can fall out..

Hi,

What springs are you talking about and how can the grill fall out?

Hello again,

Here are some more pics of the fix. These are taken from the side so we can see how far the grill and the bolts are recessed in relation to the front bumper. The distance from the front of the bumper to the bolts is about 5 inches so someone would have to lean into the front to catch on the bolt ends.
However, now the bolt ends have the acorn nuts so they are smooth and round and cant catch on any pants leg or anything like that. The top bolts came out just the right length as you can see the two nuts and one acorn nut, but the bottom ones were too long so you can see the two nuts, part of the bolt still, then the acorn nuts at the end o the bolts. Looks a little funny but is still very functional. I might cut them down anyway though in the future.

Grill 1 is the pic from the side, and Grill 2 is also a pic from the side but closer up so we can see the bolts and acorn nuts better.
