After cleaning, we had to find out what all was wrong with the car, and asses the condition of the drive train.
Found issues:
Oil cooler leaking oil from the weld seams
oil leaking all over the top of the engine
incorrect spark plugs
coolant smell from engine bay
none of the windows will roll down
both passenger doors wont open
Gauge cluster not working
sunroof mechanism broken and leaking
Good stuff!
someone had been into the engine before, 185psi compression across all cylinders
Throttle body assembly replaced
turbo replaced
PCV system replaced
timing belt done at 169k
most option in the car work still, heated seats, cruise control, radio.
After some carfax digging, it looked like the first owner took very good car of the car, and most of the work was done by a volvo dealer!

Ive used the adjustable spacers before in rallycross emergencies, and was surprised how well they lasted, so decided to test them hard!!! The rubber spacers for the rear are the universal kind from the auto parts store. The rear was quite difficult to get back together. We used several ratchet straps to pull the rear suspension components back into place. the put the rubber spacer in the perch above the spring. Welded some metal to the sides to keep the spring in place also.

Next we needed to fit some tires. The 17inch factory wheels did not give us enough options, so smaller wheels needed to be found. After LOTS of searching, i managed to find some 5x108 MB wheels an hour away. After picking them up, i noticed they they had a 10mm better offset as well!!
Tires I chose were Forceum MT/08 235/75r15 which are 28.9inch x 9.3inch paper. Original tires are 235.45r17 or 25.3inch x 9.25inch

test fit didnt go so well unfortunately.... The fronts would not clear the strut perch. The tires were larger than advertised when mounted.
I was able to find some wheel spacers online, but none were large enough. I finally found some 2inch spacers, but the lugs were 12mm and the hub bore was too small...
luckily a local machine shop was able to help out!

Bumper time! The hard part, we had to mount rails underneath to the actual frame. This was lower than i wanted the push bar, but wit worked out. The Factory bumper support is made of aluminum, so we couldnt weld it.
