Honestly, if it were me, I'd just replace the o-rings on those parts that I replace. There is no certainty that the system is not fubar anyway, which may be why the PO did not complete the repairs. So crossed fingers.

While I wait for the new receiver drier to arrive, I decided to pull a vacuum down to 28. In less than an hour it was back up to zero. So, I suspect there is a leak somewhere. It's possible that there may be a leak in the gauges. I made sure they were nice and snug.
Should I wait for the new receiver drier to arrive and install before putting in some dye to hunt for the leak?

It should have had dye in the system to begin with, you may be able to see something with a black light flashlight.

You usually don’t be get any Orings with an AC part except the orfice tubes ( not applicable to your car, I think)romeroom wrote: ↑04 Jun 2019, 11:37 Thanks for handing in there with me. It is making a huge difference.
When I said "what are the places that need o-rings, I meant on the actual A/C system itself. For example, the receiver drier looks like needs two, which should come already installed with the new one. The compressor lines I suspect are two more. Where else in the system should I be looking? A/C o-ring kits come with a ton. I supposed I can figure this out myself, but if you can hint at it, It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I order two sets of complete ACorings because they often leave some out on aftermarket kits

I pulled a vacuum for about a half hour. After shutting off the low and high side gauges the needle was up to zero in less than an hour, so there is a leak. I decided to replace the Schrader valve cores. Prior to that I added UV detection solution through the low side. I decided to charge it with refrigerant to get the solution going to help find the leak following recommended procedures.
Problem:. Low end pressure is near 30 and moves down when the compressor cycles. (By the way the vehicle has rear AC.) High end however is extremely low.
Warm air coming through vents. Suggestions?

when fully charged you will have about 70psi on the low and high side with everything off. Running and AC on you will see between 40 and 60 on the low side, depending on ambient temp, and 150-200 on the high side.
The XC90 with rear air takes 46 ounces of refrigerant
