This is maybe a little off topic since i have a P80 V70 and i know this is a very old thread.

but what to do when you arent strong enough for the 120* angle?

this is embarrassing. just torqued the subframe bolts to the 74 lb ft and tried to the 120* angel and I am not strong enough to hardly budge them. its going to take me using a very long pipe on my breaker bar i think to get to the 120* on those things.

anyway, thought yall may get a laugh at my expense. I know i laughed when I was trying it just now.

It’s a strong pull on a 24 inch breaker bar indeed bit should be doable. These things do need to be tight. They are holding a lot of weight.

No doubt it needs to be tight. Edit: I was not using my 24” breaker. Thought I was using the biggest I had until I just went and looked. Sad that I don’t even remember the tools I have. I ordered up a proper torque angle gauge to get it set right. So when that gets here I’ll give this another go with the big bar and see if I can manage it. If not, guess it’ll be time to find the “big ol’ pipe” extension.

Nothing wrong with asking someone bigger to give a tug to move a bolt by two hex points.

I’ve got a 6 foot dense muscle Title IX athlete for rent in NY, she loaded a cylinder head from the side of car once…ooof

It will still be a 100 lb full shoulder pull on that 24 inch to get the 120 swing

Sadly of all the people I know I’m the most capable. I could probably do it it it wasn’t for having to be on my back. I’ll get it I’m sure of it. I always seem to find a way. Just gotta find somewhere to brace my feet LOL

I’ll gladly borrow athlete. It’s a little far im afraid. But send ‘em on down
