Thanks to everyone. I rarely ask for help, but I think it is more about the challenge of figuring out how to do it alone. In this case, however, it just seems easier to have a second set of hands. Although with a few packing blankets and a couple of clamps......
Is the hood on the xc70 dedicated to just that or will a 60 hood also work. When I was looking at new primed hoods they seemed to be for both cars.

As far as I know the P2 hoods are the same. S60, V70, XC70 should all be identical. The one I replaced our 06 XC with is off an S60.

It’s not a pride thing for me, or bragging rights. More like the help I have close by would probably end up creating more damage than I was trying to repair in the first place! And kids running around taking tools etc make no car task easier.

Edit, if you’re doing it outdoors just don’t do it on a windy day, you’ll be fine.

Its a disease. I just harvested a dash out of a P80 and managed to get the dash out by self, while in a garage with the doors only about 3/4 openable. Talk about a PITA
