That's correct if the right side is your reference whether from the old unit or from the Haynes manual.

Yeah I understand the side visual of both to be angled 5° positive but the top tip placement of my left does not match the Haynes photo. The Haynes photo shows the Right.

Could there be two part numbers? Depending on suspension design one strut won't fit both sides.

That's the question: Should the position on the top of the Left Strut be a mirror image of the Right?

I'm going to go to the wrecking yard and look at the strut positions for comparison
